If you are planning to work with LDAP on the Microsoft platform, you need to
learn ADSI and the Active Directory. Start by reading up on ADSI in MSDN.

This is a really big topic. too much to begin to explain here.

I believe that there is a newsgroup for adsi as well:
microsoft.public.adsi.general

There is an opensource project named PowerAD that has many ADSI code. You
may find everything you need to now about Active Directory and C# in this
project.

You can download my open-source, C# based ADSI browser, to see some
code and get a feel for what you can do with C# and ADSI.
