DataType

I just can not figure out how to provide the information correctly to this
method...

When creating a DataParameter, one of the properties which need to be set
is the datatype. To do this, I would do the following..

dc.DataType = typeof(string)

This of course assumes the datatyp that I an trying to set up is "string".

Now, let's say I want to retrieve the "DbType" of a column and then set
this "DbType" in another column. How do I do this.

I can not do this..

DbType myType = dc.DataType as this return "Type" not DbType

I tried DbType myType = (DbType) dc.DataType, but this does not work either

So do I get the DbType from a column to set the col.DbType property?

Thanks!!!!!!!!!
