Formatting numbers in text boxes?

I am having trouble getting numeric data to format as currency in a text
box. I get price data from an SQL query, brought in as a string. But it
may be a whole number (15). When I place that in a txtPrice text box, I
want it to read 15.00 or, if large: 1,234.56

I've rattled around the documentation and somehow have a mental block or
inability to find the correct method. It's probably trivial, but I could
use some help.

Thanks,

Bob.
