create PDFs dynamically from database

Hello --

I am looking for a way to dynamically generate PDF documents - combining
Crystal Reports and data driven "fields".

For example, I have a template that's essentially a summary document and I
would like to populate certain fields with client names and account data.

Also, I would like to make a "master" PDF that contains all the PDF
summaries in one document -- and use bookmarks if possible.

Can this be done, and are there any examples?

Any advice, tips, and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers!

Check out www.xmlpdf.com for an implementation of the XSL-FO standard for
creating PDF documents from XML.

Thanks for the response. I checked it out briefly - it doesn't look like
there's support for using Crystal templates? Can it be used to create pdfs
in "batches" -- I need to create several hundred ~thousands of PDFs at
once....

Thanks again - I'll look it.

Depending on the version of Crystal and if you are programattically
controlling the creation of the report, which I believe you are, Crystal has
an object for printing to a PDF file, or at least they used to for version 8
and 8.5. We no longer use Crystal but I recommend you search the
CrystalDecisions.com Knowledgebase for PDF's.
