Viewing collection contents from debugger

When I try to use the VS debugger to view the current contents of a
collection, I can expand the collection by expanding the tree in a
Quickwatch. This has nested structures (e.g., buckets, keys, value,
syncroot). Each of these can, in turn be expanded and eventually, I can
often find one of the collections keys. The problem is that this
approach is non-deterministic as the keys/values don't seem to always
be found using the same "path", at least when I'm looking at different
collections.

I've tried using an IFormatable style ToString routine to traverse the
collections and turn it into a string of name/value pairs. This works
reliably except I don't appear to be able to invoke this method from
the Immediate window. I can add a "dump" member taking no parameters to
the class and it will display the key/value pairs quite easily.
Unfortunately, this seems to mean I need to plan ahead and insert dump
routes for each of the collections in each class. This sure clutters up
the code.

Surely there should be a straight forward way to view the contents of a
collection from the debugger. Is there a recipe /repeatable technique
for doing this?

Thanks.
