Controlling Downstream/Upstream over a network

is there a way that i can configure download or upload speed over a
network.. for ex. there is a server machine with a limited UL/DL speed and 3
clients called A,B,C.. A is used for downloading files from internet so it
has a higher download speed and lesser upload speed while B is used for web
server so it has higher upload and lower dl speec etc... how can i split the
ul/dl rates to specific ports or ip adresses? or is it possible?

Hello

You can use QoS services in windows, but I have no idea about their
features, or how they are configured. I don't know if it has what you need.
But most probably it does.

The Linux kernel supports bandwidth shaping, see http://www.lartc.org
Linux have very powerful features, but this area is very badly documented,
but it is not difficult.

I am not a Linux fan, but when if I need a firewall or bandwidth control
machine, I would use Linux.

Best regards,
Sherif
