How to write an XML file from an XML Source?

Code below declares control, data class, gets data, Transforms data.

protected System.Web.UI.WebControls.Xml Xml1;

// get DATA class ready to work

XMLData oXML = new XMLData();

// Fill XML doc with data from SP

Xml1.Document = oXML.MakeXML("exec IndexXML '"+aPage+"'");

//end code
How do I create an .xml file from this control? This way I can see why I get
no output from the next line:

Xml1.TransformSource = "~/IndexRpt4.xslt";

TIA
