IPictureDisp Issues

I'm developing an addin for an application. All interaction takes place
via COM. I've had no luck trying to associate an icon with a UI element
such as a button within the host application.

So I did some searching and found instructions on how to derive from
AxHost to expose the GetIPictureDispFromPicture method. Unfortunately,
the image is incorrectly scaled and the colors seem inverted. I then
switched to using GIF files. That solves the color issue but the images
still suffer from incorrect scaling.

Does anyone know of a solution to this problem or have an alternative
solution?
