AGGHHH Reference in collection never returns

Hi,

I've made a dictionary object called ServerObjects.

I populate this dictionary by adding opc servers that i connect to in
my SignalManager class.

when my Signal Object has new data to be written it calls a method in
the SignalManager, this then uses the SignalObjects dictionary to
return a reference to the correct server.

The problem is that the reference that is returns contains no data, or
rather the data is unavailable or not accessable.

I'm testing my program using a console app.

If i break the program in my console app (main) i can see the
references to the servers quite happily and all is good, but from
within the code the references appear to be broken. any call to
Server.ServerName or any property and the thread goes away and never
comes back.

this is so strange, its doing my head in.

any help?
