Silly Delegation signature question

Hello,

I have a base class with declares delegates and events. I derived my class
from it and use it everywhere in code, function signatures etc. Now I can
not use functions with derived class parameters as an implementation of
delegates! It says that there is no matching function signature for
delegates. Why C# would not do implicit conversion to a base class?

What is the common way to tackle a problem?

Thanks for your help.
