form designer problem

I have a control (in a .net assembly) that exposes a property that is
intended to be unique for each instance of the control (i'll pretend its a
GUID for these purposes). It needs to be read/writeable, not just readable,
so i have a property that exposes it, with get/set methods, as well as a
private variable to store it.

When i drop this control onto a form, the forms designer attempts to
generate that property automatically. The problem is that it actually
hardcodes a GUID into it. How do i stop the designer from trying to fill in
that property in the InitializeComponent() function?
