Cancelling Events based on Exceptions in other EventHandlers

I am trying to find out how to cancel all TreeView events if an exception occurs
during any one of the following...

MouseDown
BeforeSelect
AfterSelect
DragDrop
DragEnter
DragOver
GiveFeedback
ItemDrag
Click

See, the problem I'm having is that an Exception is occuring during BeforeSelect
.. But for some reason, after the exception is raised and a MessageBox presented,
I cancel the event using e.Cancel, however, the Treenode that is being selected
at the time is mysteriously getting moved to another parent. Strange.
