So many comparison methods,But why

I see ReferenceEquals() ,virtual Equals() Method, Static Equals() Method
,Then comes the comparison Operator(==), and finally the one parameter
Equals(obj) ..why exactly has .Net given so many options for me to compare
two objects ...
