Hiding Files ?

Is there a way in C# to hide a file. What I need to do is to hide a file of
type unkown and load that file into a calling program. So what I am looking
for is a password protected shell that contains a file of any type and that
can be run/loaded from within the protected folder/file etc - Is there a way
to set a password on a file ?
