Upcoming Emacs emulation fixes for VS2008?

Great to see VS Emacs key mapping back as of VS2005, but there have
been bugs that were never fixed. They remain in VS2008, despite bug
reports to Microsoft., and SP1 for VS2008 does not fix them.

Problems are primarily with indenting...tab key will not work in some
cases. And some cut and paste problems. Both documented in reports
on MS site.

Does anyone know if this is targeted for upcoming service packs? Or
are there published macros that fix the problems?

Hello I am probably going to start a war now... but so be it :) I just want to hear what all you guys who eat pythons for breakfast use for python coding. Currently I use Kate, but I would really like an IDE with debugger and a source browser (ie. one the I can use to browse through modules etc. when looking for just the right curses stuff and such - I am a newcomer to Python).

Sorry but there is no another way, c# .net and mono are going to rip python, not because python is a bad lenguage, but because is to darn old and it refuses to innovate things, to fix wrong things, just because retarded backwards compatibility and because the python comunity and developers refuses to consider tools as being almost as important as the language itself. What does c# .net has that python doesnt ? (significant features) --...

Re VS2005 editor in Emacs mode (options->env->keyboard mapping) First of all, there are very few editor options for formatting C/C++ code. Only three option pages. C# has about 10, I believe. Why are there no C++ equivalents to C#'s detailed formatting options? In the following code block, the editor won't *accept* a tab before the case label (much less do a correct auto-format): switch (n) {

VS2005 Emacs mode copy/paste bugs are still not fixed in SP1 beta. They've been reported to Microsoft since the original Emacs mode, but it doesn't look like MS has much interest in fixing them. (Problem reports closed for no apparent reason). If you're using Emacs mode, how are you getting around the copy/paste bugs? Do you have macros for remapping to standard copy/paste commands?

My boss wants to go with VS2005 and I am trying to convince to buy VS2008. Can somebody provide links to compare 2 products in terms of how stable they are. I do not need VS2008 new features, I need to prove to my management that VS2008 is a stable product. TIA

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
