Re: Assembly.GetExe cutingAssembly( ).

Good thoughts, another option to use Path.Combine to merge the string e.g.
Path.Combine(Pa th.GetDirectory Name(Applicatio n.ExecutablePat h), "Logs"),
"fileName.t xt")

Alex

I have a component that needs to access files which exist in the same directory as the DLL containing the component itself. To determine the component's installation directory, I'm using System.Reflection.Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().Location. This worked fine on my computer, but for another user, it failed because the assembly was being loaded using a shadow copy of the DLL located in a different directory. Is there a way,...

I'm having a real hard-time to work out the hell of the statelite assembly. 1) At start, the official MSDN stated to use: .... new ResourceManager(strBaseName, Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly()); and the resource file should be named as <basename>.resx It didn't work (in WinApp).

Hi The question concerns the ways ASP.NET loads required assemblies into it's app domain. I know of a deprecated feature of clr assembly detection in which the use of environment variable DEVPATH is involved. My problem is that this way doesnot seem to work when I need to locate an assembly in my ASP.NET application. Does the DEVPATH feature have to work in ASP.NET?

Hello .NET Sages, Question. What is the meaning of adding say, an XML file to a project, next to a .CS file (not that it matters). Does that mean the XML file becomes a part of the compiled assembly and I'll be able to refer to it from another application that'll open up and use this assembly? As you understand, this is my purpose. I'd like to have an assembly that

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
