Old style animation in WPF

I-m just starting developing in WPF and Expression Blend. It-s quite
different from Windows Forms. Anyway i'm making my way through. I'm
just wondering how to do the following thing:

I have a control where I put shapes doing Children.Add(.. .) . I want
to manage these shapes at certain time intervals. What it has to
happen is: set up a timer, say every 100 msecs; when the timer ticks,
I want the callback to modify those shapes. I I do it using a plain
old .NET Timer object, it will complain about thread access. How can I
work out around this??

I'm relatively new to scripting in JavaScript, so I'm not too surprised I'm having difficulty scripting up an animation effect for my personal site. What I'm trying to do is the following: When I go onMouseOver on a button in a nav bar, I want that button to switch to a different image while at the same time another blank image changes as an animation to an associated image. When I go onMouseOut, the bar image reverts back to the...

Hello, I'm new to c# and have created an animation which draws directly to the window, it uses the code below which all works. I would like to know if this is the 'correct' way to do it - or would an experienced c# programmer do it another way? This part defines the screen and the graphics pad I'm drawing to: Graphics screen = CreateGraphics(); Graphics drawpadg = Graphics.FromImage(drawpad);

My application has a lot of complicated SQL statements, calculations, processing that takes time. I've created a custom form to act like a messagebox. It has 10 small rectangles on it that change color sequentially to let the user know that processing is occurring. This 'animation' occurs via the form timer event. However, I'm having trouble getting the animation to occur for all types of processing events. It appears that I have to...

Hi there! I've run into a bit of a problem wherein a <div> containing an error message is made invisible by an animation. I've tried everything to make this <div> reappear on a button click (set the visibility=visible, set the display=block...etc) but nothing seems to be working. I think the animation is setting a <div>'s opacity to 0. (I can't find out for sure because something magical is done while using the animation in the Ajax.Net...

Most applications, including Windows Explorer, show some sort of 'wait' dialog with animation when a lengthy operation is going on. For example, When the Windows Explorer is searching for something, it shows a small dialog with a moving flashlight. I examined the explorer.exe and found that that was an avi file. Now that, I would like to do similar thing in my C# application. But what is the most efficient way to do so? 1)Manually...

So a while ago I created a Tab Strip Control (before the AjaxToolkit had theirs otherwise I would have probably just used theirs). When I looked at the AjaxToolkit control to see how they got around this problem I discovered that they're using Animations. I don't want to bloat my control with the Ajaxtoolkit's Animation stuff though. I guess I should tell you what the problem is. I have a TabStrip custom control. It's a Table that has...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
