conflicting info between debugger and page

I have a strange behaviour as follows:

public class SaveWebControlO bject
{
public WebControl control;
}
public partial class Default : System.Web.UI.P age
{
SaveWebControlO bject swco = new SaveWebControlO bject();
protected void ButtonClick1(.. .) // click a button
{
Label1.Text = "button clicked";
sco.control = Label1;
}
protected void ButtonClick2(.. .) // undo a button click
{
((Label)sco.con trol).Text = "undone";
}
}
I debugged ButtonClick2() method and it confirmed that the label object
saved in SaveWebControlO bject.control was assigned the text "undone"
but it fails to show up on the page.
What am I missing here?

Rich

These controls are placed on the aspx page declaratively. The...

Whatever answer I give it does not work! I built the exe as a "release". Can someone tell me what I am...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
