Suppose you have the time and the money to start a new project in Python. What would you like to do? I can think of: - A civilization like game in Python, with multiplayer support via twisted. - An easy to use tool for drawing diagrams, typically various kinds of arrows and circles and boxes, that produces nice .eps and .svg files.

This is a bit long-winded. Can somebody read thru these 2 use cases, and tell me if it is feasible ? :- Use Case : Replication before Offline Synch Scenario 1 : Oracle Server , MSDE client 1. User clicks on 'Go Offline'. System creates a MSDE SQL database in laptop (client), gets the schemas of the tables in Oracle, creates corresponding tables in client's MSDE SQL (mapping Oracle datatypes to SQL

I am running win2k pro in my office pc which has visual studio .net installed. The source safe server is on another pc. I have my entire source code directory available on my laptop via Offline Files. The directory structure is housed on my server and made available offline on the laptop using Windows 2000. When I do a build on the server, everything is fine. When I do it on the laptop while connected to the server, everything is fine. But when I do it on the laptop while not connected to the server (working offline), I get internal compiler errors. If...

This fall I am taking a extended vacation to backpack across Australia and want to keep a daily online journal of the trip with images from my camera attached for each day so my friends and family can monitor my progress. The problem with this wish is that I will not have internet access on a regular basis and will need a way to make many journal entries offline on my laptop and then be able to upload them all at once when I find access. ...

Hi, I just transferred to another location at my company and am attempting to add some newly created webpages to their existing Windows Server 2003 Web Edition. I am new to ASP.Net, but have been coding ASP pages for a couple of years. The previous web admin apparently wasnt using a project file to work out of when he created all of the ASP.Net web pages. (The only instance of a project file that is loaded on the server isnt valid and doesnt...

Hello. I'm developing and testing a web application using VS.NET 2003, VB, .NET Framework 1.1.4322, ASP.NET 1.1.4322 and IIS5.1 on a WIN XP Pro, SP2 computer. I'm using a web form. How do I move this project/solution from a local development xp pro computer which uses IIS/localhost, to another xp pro computer that is on a Windows 2003 server domain. I want to be able to use the Windows 2003 server IIS instead of localhost.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
