Diagnostics.Pro cess - Error Handling

Hello Guys:

How would I be able to check if a .bat file I call had an error associated
with it? I have the following code to shell out to a batch file. However:
if an error occured: how would I be able to trap for this error? Is it as
simple as a try...catch? I have been uncessful in my attempts.

System.Diagnost ics.Process process = new System.Diagnost ics.Process();
process.StartIn fo.FileName = "uploadin.b at"
process.Start() ;

You have to check Process.ExitCod e:

process.Start() ;
process.WaitFor Exit()
if ( process.ExitCod e == 0 )
Console.Write( "OK");
//error occured

Hi! Does anyone know why the code below always returns an "access is denied" error? private void Page_Load(object sender, System.EventArgs e) { System.Diagnostics.Process meProc = System.Diagnostics.Process.Start ("cmd.exe", " /c echo y| CACLS C:\\Temp /E /T /G test:F");

When Tracing in ASP.NET, the IIS process (on IIs5.1) is locking on the Trace file, and I can't read the trace file without restarting the IIS: Even the following does NOT work (how could I fix this??): System.Diagnostics.Trace.WriteLine(System.DateTime.Now.ToLongTimeString()+ "--" + dirException.ToString()); System.Diagnostics.Trace.Flush(); ((System.Diagnostics.TraceListener) System.Diagnostics.Trace.Listeners).Close();

Hello All, Hopefully someone has run into this error. I have written a class(source below) that launches a thread to monitor the StandardOutput of a System.Diagnostics.Process, in particular I am executing the find.exe program. The application works perfectly in the development environment. As soon as I execute the compiled program and start the find process I get an "Application Error". The error states that the instruction...

I have created a very simple batch file (echo hello world) and was trying to retrieve the standard output but every time I run the code it returns ExitCode as 1.

I'm using the Diagnostics.Process approach to shelling out run the following: C:\Windows\System32\MSIEXEC.EXE /x {73F1BDB7-11E1-11D5-9DC6-00C04F2FC33B} /q ..FileName = "C:\Windows\System32\MSIEXEC.EXE" ..Arguments = "/x {73F1BDB7-11E1-11D5-9DC6-00C04F2FC33B} /q" ..Start() I do a WaitForExit and get an error code back from MSIEXEC of 1605 -- this

Hello folks, I'm using System.Diagnostics.Process to start a thirdparty program (that works perfectly when started via command line). I'm using Process.StandardOutput to get the output of the program. That works for 95 %, but the other 5 % it doesn't. It seems to me that the started process just hangs, and therefor my program hangs, too (p.WaitForExit()). I researched that this only happens when the output of the program is longer than...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
