VS2005 - Dragged web control becomes link in code view???

As above, in VS2005 when I drag a web control I made onto my form while
in code view, it creates a link instead of the web control instance.

Is this configurable?
Normally I try to hunt down my own answers except when there's 5
million possible places to look, such as in Tools -> Options.

In design view it works of course, but in html view it just creates a
link to my web control.

Hi guys I've just started having a play with VS2005 again ready for the switchover. I created a master page, and a content page - all fine. I then created a CSS file and linked it to my master page by just dragging across into the code window. WOrked perfectly. I carried on making tweaks, and adding various things, and the all of a sudden when I went to "View in Browser" - no CSS! At all. The link is there if I view source on the web...

I tried the new Visual Studio 2005 Team System + VSS2005, no Team Foundation Server. Some questions pop into my head: 1. WITHOUT TFS, can VSS2005 integrated with VS2005? What I like is the VS6 kind of integration: when I modify a source file in VisualStudio, VS found out it's readonly and controled by VSS, then pop up a dialog for me to check out from VSS. It seems like even with TFS, the integration between VSS and VS is not the same....

I've begun trying to create some basic applications and controls and am left wondering if Microsoft rushed this to market, is just anti-web standards, or just wants it to be hard to create great sites. For instance: When I create a template or region editing control. Why doesn't the region or template pick up the attributes of the container I'm editing (and preferably staying in the flow of the page)? Why does this matter? Well, if I...

Hi, In VS2003 conditional compilation constants and their state could be defined at project level. I was using this to control what features where offered by various builds. i.e. Feature1=true,Feature2=false, ... VS2005 seems to either allow the existance of the constant or not. ie. You must omit a constant not declare it to be false This means that the list no longer declares the state of all the options.

Bit of a newbie on C# and .Net I have an object with a List< 'things'- each thing can be displayed in its own a control window. What I would like is a tab-view as in Excel where the users can add/delete/rename a new Sheet I've had a play with the standard tab-control but the UI on VS2005 doesn't seem to use this

I have a fairly basic VB.NET application that I converted from VS2003 to VS2005 and now it crashed the VS2005 IDE pretty regularly while trying to use the form designer. I've removed any 3rd references in my projects and recoded methods to remove any deprecated functions. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
