C# Event to be handled by an external class

Hi guys,

I have a rather newbie question. I have created a simple form with a button. I want to fire an event when I click the button that can be "picked up" by an external class/ C# application. Can this be done, or must the event handler be registered specifically? i.e. Can a generic C# class wait for an event that has been fired by another C# class?

Thank you very much,

Andreas M

All, I have searched google and the newsgroups but can't find anything the same as what I am experiencing (though I may have missed something). Is there anyway to raise an event from a class and require that any program using that class (not just inheritance) have an event handler for specific events in the class? In my case, some events don't need to be handled, but some must be handled by the program that uses the class. I'm looking for something along the lines of Class...

I know about AddHandler and RemoveHandler, but my requirement is a little more complex. I pass a form to a routine. In that routine I must scan each control, and for each "button" control I find, I must delete it's "click" event handler. I can't see how to do this using RemoveHandler because I don't know the name of the delegate handling...

I created a windows form control that inherits from the standard .Net DataGridView control, to which I've added custom functionality. Instead of using the standard control in my applications, I use my customized version. I have an event handler in the custom control for the KeyDown event that simulates a double-click on the selected grid row...

I have a class that raises events that downstream objects subscribe to. In one case, after destroying the object, the event seems to still get handled in a subscriber object. So I instantiate an object and the event fires correctly. Then I destroy the object and instantiate another instance and the subscriber event handler get hit twice. I've...
