Publish wizard and IIS

Hello there people

I'm having problems when publishing an application on the internet
using the publish wizard from Visual Studio 2005. I am being able to
publish on the internet (on web site) so that clients can download it
and install it on their pc.

The problem is with security. I'm using basic authentication only.
However when a client (even from locally) tries to download it receives
an error "Applicatio n download did not succeed. Check your network
connection, or contact your system administrator or network service

If I untick "Integrated Windows Authentication" it will work however I
will loose the security window that prompts the user to enter his
username and password.

Is there a way how to go around it or solve it maybe I'm missing some

Thanks much appreciated

I have a .NET 1.1 application (C#) that I converted to .NET 2.0... Conversion was pretty painless, code runs from the development environment no problem... but when I try and publish... It says everything was successful. So what's the problem??? It never creates any files in the output directory... It will delete any existing ones but never creates anything. Nothing ever gets published Any ideas would be appreciated --

Hi there. We're implementing a new web site in ASP.NET 2.0. We're using the "old" Web App project model (http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2006/03/27/441147.aspx) We've come up with a problem when we want to publish the web site. In VS 2005 we right click the project -> Publish... -> the output is generated. Seems fine. But when we try to access the deployed aspx-files it comes up with a parser error: it tells us it can't find the...

I've created a small app which uses an access database. When I click Build Publish and choose publish to file eg. CD / DVD it creates a setup file (installer) which for some reason puts the executable in the start menu (not a shortcut) when run and doesn't deploy the database file even though it is part of the project. What am I doing wrong? The few options given by the publish wizard only choose publish file location etc. and don't make...

VB2005 Express. I am developing a solution that involves a windows forms application and a number of class library projects (DLLs). Some of the DLLs require extra data files or third party dlls. I can include additional non-source files in my projects, but these are not always automatically included when I publish the application. It seems that files included in the main application project are included, but any files that I add to other...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
