Create gui in minimized window

I'm trying to create an application like the miniplayer in windows
media player. I would like to be able to create some buttons etc in the
minimized window of the appliaction. But I have had a hard time finding
information about this. I have only been able to find documentation
that describes how icons/application are added to the system tray.

Does anybody have experience with this or link to documentation
describing this issue.

Thanks, Niels

Hi Boldt,

Please refer to the below link. You can also add custom list (context
menu) to your minimised system tray icon.

Hi, does someone know, if it's possible capturing the content of a panel, when its form has state "minimized"? Details: A panel contains a Webbrowser object (AxSHDocVw.AxWebBrowser). My actual application automatically navigates to some websites, makes a screenshot and transforms them into small thumbnails. At the moment I'm using the imported function BitBlt from gdi32.dll. This solutions only works, if the

In my application, I used SetForegroundWindow hwnd to bring the background window to front of desktop. It works fine in most of the case. However, if the targeted background window is minimized, after executing SetForegroundWindow hwnd to maximize this window, this window cannot be minimized any longer(nothing happens when click the minimize button on top-right corner of the window title bar)

I have a Windows form application that I generally run minimized. When a critical event occurs it instantiates another "Alert" form which I want to grab the user focus. In the Alert constructor I call both this.Show() and this.Activate(), but if the parent application is minimized then the Alert form will also stay minimized (and just flash). How can I cause the Alert form to show itself and grab focus?

See comment below. This is a simple problem but I'm a little rusty. How to break out of a event loop (here _Paint)? I've tried if/else, case, etc but not quite what I want--I keep getting the JIT system event exception handler saying "zero area!", or, worse, the Paint loop refuses to run at all; what I want to do is simply break out of the _Paint loop, and (optionally) show a MessageBox. This error happens everytime the...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
