I have a string variable that holds the equivalent of a DateTime value. I pulled this datetime from the database and I want to strip off the time portion before displaying to the user. I am using C# eg. - String variable "strMyDate" holds the value "1/1/2005 12:00:00 AM" from the database. - I do not care about the time portion, I only want "1/1/2005" for display.

When a class contains a TimeSpan property, XmlSerializer doesn't work. A TimeSpan property is serialized like: <MySpan /> I've read a number of posts that talk about why this happens and how to work around it. My question is from a slightly different angle. What can I do to my value type structures so that XmlSerializer can serialize them properly?

I want to convert a string "1234123412341234" to "1234-1234-1234-1234". This does not work: String.Format("{0:xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx}",s) What will? Although I know there are many other solutions, I am only interested in ones that use the new braket {0:} style formating because many web controls require this. Thanks Perry

Hi guys! Just wanted to let you all know that I created a Variant structure, inspired by the old VB6 days. This is written in C#, but you can build a CLR/.NET class library assembly and reference it to your liking. ' Here is an example of use: ' start with a string of "1" Dim da As Variant = new Variant("1") ' add an integer of 2, becomes 3

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
