Control Resizing

Howdy,

I have a user control with a heap of windows controls on it.
When the user control gets resized, I want it to wait until the user is
finished resizing before establishing layout.

I am aware of suspend and resume layout funcitons, however am not sure
what event I should be handling. If I use the resize event, then it
redoes layout on every pixel movement, and this can get clunky even
with the two afore mentioned methods.

Thanks in advance.

I have a DataList control that has an Image control in the ItemTemplate. I would like to resize the image that goes into that control. I have a series of jpg files that are full size, full resolution (ie. large). I have a database that contains references to the pictures. Currently I have to resize the jpgs manually, and then point the ImageUrl property at that jpg using databinding. This works fine. I would like to avoid the resizing step...

Hi, I have developed a composite control that needs to support resizing in designer. My research turned up no guidance on the best approach for this, and I've found no mention of any design-time events fired upon a control resize or layout change. SO, my current thought is to put recalculation of the sizes and positions of the child controls in the OnPreRender override. Anyone know of any risks I haven't considered or of a better...

Hi all, I have a control, that basically is my own version of the datagrid, except that is renderers purely readonly tabular information. When the control is rendered to the designer, I can click on the control as rendered and move it, however I cannot resize it. I can change the height and Width properties in the PropertyGrid and they change, but the control doesn't resize.

Windows forms come with a resize sizegrip at the bottom right of a form, for dynamic resizing. I am trying to do the same thing with any control, say a listbox or a datagrid. Is there a way to attach something like this, that has the functionality I'm looking for? I don't want a generic resizer control that simply allows the controls on a form to resize automatically with the form resize, unless it also provides for individual control...

Hello, I have a Windows Media Control (of fixed size, say 300 X 200) placed on an User Control. This user control is then used in a Windows Form. Now what I want is that this Windows Media Control should prevent the outer Form from resizing below its own size of 300 X 200 (when the Form is being resized to say 299 length and/or 199 width or something less). Thanks in advance.

Hello i have made a custom control. i have placed a panel on it. I want this panel to behave just like the normal panel. The problem i was having is that the panel on my custom control doesnt accept other controls. The control i drag drop on it becomes the child of my custom control's parent form and not the child of my custom control. Then i added this line "" before my custom control class (i dont know what this line does). Now

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
