Converting 1.0 form to 2.0?

Are there any recommended steps or something for converting a 1.0 form
style that is now in VS 2K5 to the 2.0 style? A brand new 2.0 form
does not contain a RESX file, as the converted 1.0 form does.

I am converting a db from 97 to 2002. I have a very simple Find Macro from 97- consists of RunCommand: Find SendKeys: %h{up}%e%n After the conversion.... If I try to run the macro from the form: I receive an error "The control 'Command57' the macro is attempting to search can't be searched", and then states that I need to do one of

Hello, A partner is going to be creating some HTML files that I plan on converting to user controls (UC) and dynamically load at runtime. I'm guessing Visual Studio doesn't come with some utililty to convert HTML files to UCs? IOW, I'll have to manually convert each HTML file to a UC? I've never used user controls before, so I'm wondering what I need to add and remove to each UC (or HTML file) to make this work. For instance, I...

Hi there, kind of a dumb question, but it falls in line with not understanding (go figure) every nuance about .Net. Is it relatively straight forward to convert a VB.Net built app to an ASP.Net web system? If I am not just way off in left field, it would seem to be not too difficult, but am curious if anybody had experience doing or attempting this. Thanks, Derek

Hi All, We've got an VS.2003 ASPNET (VB) webproject which we would like to convert to VS.2005 so that we can make use of the Master Page feature. Converting the initial pages to 2005 is not such a problem (some minor errors) but we run into trouble when we're trying to insert a converted page into a master page content-placeholder. The original page has some Javascript in it which ofcourse references to controls in a form in the page....

I found this code (pretty sure it was from a MVP) for converting a string variable to a form object which works fine within a form. Take the code and place it into a code module and it fails on the second line in regards to Me.GetType.... any idea how to get this to work outside of a form? Dim strClass As String = Reflection.Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly.GetName.Name & ".frmChildOne" Dim tyOfStringVariable As Type =...

We are slowly converting all of our older access 97 databases to 2003. One of them that has been running fine for 3 + years and has over 2000 records in is giving me a problem. It converted fine and seems to be ok until LOL I add a new person and enter data....when I try to close the form it says this record has been modified by another user and can not be saved...then the save==copy to clipboard===drop changes box comes up. anyone...

I keep getting errors that pop up when I am trying to convert an application from dotnet framework 1.1 to framework 2.0. The old project was saved in sourcesafe from Visual Studio 2003, and I have opened it in Visual Studio 2005. I've cleared up most errors, but have one that beats the heck out of me. I have a page: sales/Item.aspx that has several datagrids in it.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
