.NET2.0 Bug Fix: Auto Toolbox Population does not work when project in solution folder

I'm sure some of you ran into this already and wondered how to fix it. When
you Have a solution that contains solution folders (the partially
transparent folders that can hold groupings of projects) and you want to use
auto populate items in toolbox it wont work. For it to workk, the items
which you want to be in the auto populate items must be at the solution root
level! the can not be inside a solution folder. If they are they will be
ignored in the auto population routine during the toolbox item rebuild
(which happens when the project is rebuilt). If you have all your items at
the solution root level you should not see this problem at all, but if you
organize your project in solution folders, you will see this bug. Hope this
helps some people out!

Hi All, I'm in a possibly unusual situation, that is working alternately on an ASP.NET web site from two dev computers, one of which has VS.Net installed on it, the other of which does not. As you can imagine, this is sometimes a pain in the ... When I go back to working on the computer with VS.Net installed, I copy any newly created files and folders from the live server onto the local machine for further dev work.

Ok, I already asked a question similar to this one but didn't found any answer ! I've a solution with 2 projects in it. One of the project contains Usercontrols and Inherited Controls. I work actively on both project, changing the usercontrols and the second project (forms that uses the usercontrols). When I build my solutuion, my user controls become available in the Toolbox under "My user controls", with an icon of a user control, but...

Hi everybody, I've install Visual studio Team Edition for Testers on my computers, And I can't seem to find how to show the toolbox. The documenation says there should be a 'Toolbox' menuitem under 'view' menu, But I don't have it! This happens both when editing WinForms & WebForms. Thanks, Nadav

Hi, I converted my .Net1.1 application (written in VS2003) to a .Net2.0 application. I let VS2005 do the job as it suggested when trying to load my VS2003 project in VS2005. I then included the output exe from this project into my VS2005 setup project. I used it as a custom action. I then built the whole thing and installed it.

Recently I ran all my Windows Updates which included many for Visual Studio 2005, & now when I open VS05 (using ASP.NET, VB.NET), all my toolbox options are grayed out except for the Data options; which include: DataSet, DataGridView, BindingSource, etc. This means that Label, Textbox, button, etc are all unavailable. My "General" option in Toolbox states "There are no useable controls in this group." I can run apps ok, & if I copy a...

Hi all, This is my first time trying to creaet and use a custome Web Control in a Web Site project in ASP.NET 2.0 with VS 2005 and VB. I created the control in a separate Web Control Library project. The original code for that control was written in VS 2003 for .NET 1.1. I created a Web Project and pulled the VB module into the project. I compared the syntax to the VB template classs that was built and it looked very similar. I then...

When I create a custom control inside my Windows Application project it does not appear in the toolbox. I'm using Visual Studio 2005 (Team System for Developers), so this should appear automatically, right? I've compiled the application and selected show all items, but the controls do not appear. If I create an external Windows Control library and import the controls they appear. I also tried resetting the toolbox, then creating a new...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
