Hello, I've been struggling with this for couple of days now. All I want to do is to enable SSL protocol on the webserver. I want to be able to generate and sign my own certificates. I used various tools to do that, such as makecert.exe from .NET SDK and even downloaded OpenSSL and generated certificates using that. I installed my own certificates on IIS, but SSL simply wont work with any of mine certificates. I get an error in server's...

Does anyone know if there is any sample code to create a x509 certificate out there - I'll buy a book if it has the code in it. I have spent a couple of days digging around in the System.Security.Cryptography namespace, and the RSACryptoServiceProvider class. I can create key pairs, sign, and do most of the crypto things I need to do. However nowhere is there code to save the created keypairs to a x509 certificate file.

The Python SSL object offers two methods from obtaining the info from an SSL certificate, "server()" and "issuer()". The actual values in the certificate are a series of name/value pairs in ASN.1 binary format. But what "server()" and "issuer()" return are strings, with the pairs separated by "/". The documentation at "http://docs.python.org/lib/ssl-objects.html" says "Returns a string containing the ASN.1 distinguished name identifying...

David Brown wrote: .... snip ... The problem with the gcc test suite is that it is geared to the gcc 'standard', rather than the ISO standard. A test suite should be open-source, and there should probably be several of them (with some commonality), one each for C90, C99, and C0X. The tests should be clearly tied to the standard. There are several classes of tests needed, i.e. conformance, detection of errors, and quality. The last...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
