Playing a video file that requires a Codec through Win Media Contr

I have a video file that used the DivX codec and it runs fine when I double
click on it - Windows Media Player comes up and it plays fine. But when I put
a Windows Media Player control on my windows program form and load the file,
I get a blank screen. It's acting like it can't display the files codec.

Is there anything I need to do to make sure that the codec is there and that
it is using it?

TIA - Jeff.

I have successfully insert .wmv files into MySQL. When I display the video in the browser using Read.aspx to get the .wmv: Response.ContentType = objDataReader.Item("swingContentType") Response.BinaryWrite(objDataReader.Item("swing")) if I directly call this Read.aspx, window media will open and play the .wmv. But I want to play the .wmv in browser, so I use another file to display ..wmv with <object>. Nothing happen:

I did a website for a friend's company where they wanted a 'downloads' section similar to standard file sharing you see all over the place. Everything works great except for video. I know there are codecs involved, however, if i create a video (I've tried mpg, avi, wma so far) I can watch it on my pc from disk just fine. Since my pc is also my test environment, I try to open the same video from the test site and I get the standard 'Can't...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
