How do I implement a OnRowChanging event implementation in a dataset?

Hi,
I want to implement a OnRowChanging event in the partial class of a
dataset but when I do so, I get the following error message:
"'...Table' already contains a member called 'OnRowChanging' with the
same parameter types"
Which is true, of course, but I can't figure out how to react to the
event. Am I supposed to change the designer.cs unit or is there another
way?
This is the code that generates the error:
public partial class NorthwindDataSe t
{
partial class CustomersDataTa ble
{
protected override void
OnRowChanging(D ataRowChangeEve ntArgs e)
{
Console.WriteLi ne("Row_Changin g Event: name={0};
action={1}", e.Row["name"], e.Action);
}
}
}
thx,
bert

I have a static, thread-safe class with a DataSet as a property. When the class is instanced into an object, some callers add rows to a DataTable in the DataSet. Other callers read the DataSet. When any caller reads the DataSet, I want the object to delete all of the rows in the DataTable. I think I want to make a custom event but I don't know where/how to get started. Help? Thanks.

I am looking for a good solution on how to implement data access in an application so that there is a clean separation between the data access layer, the business layer and the GUI layer. I am looking for a robust solution for a major application. Almost every developer seems to come up with a completely different solution. While many of them are not bad, I really want a very good one. My database is SQL Server 2000 and I am using Visual...

I am struggling with implementing somewhat complicated UI web-control. I explored Repeater, but I am not sure if it's the best way to go. I am leaning towards writing my own custom control and creating elements on the fly dynamically. I have a control that needs to display 3 columns and n number of rows depending on number of records. Sounds simple. But each Row has a control with its own data source binding and value must be selected...

I'm running into trouble and I hope someone can help. I have two assemblies. The first defines a base class and a series of distinct classes based on the base class. Something similar too: // BASE CLASS public class PacketBase { public virtual bool PacketOnReceive() {

I had a need recently to check if my subclasses properly implemented the desired interface and wished that I could use something like an abstract base class in python. After reading up on metaclass magic, I wrote the following module. It is mainly useful as a light weight tool to help programmers catch mistakes at definition time (e.g., forgetting to implement a method required by the given interface). This is handy when unit tests or...

I have always been curious about how people implement mainloops (or, in Twisted terminology, reactors). So I sit down and I wrote the following simple implementation: import itertools class SimpleReactor(object): DELAY = 0.001 # seconds

Just looking to compile a list of "all the ways to implement events". I'm NOT looking to get into the merits or mechanics of each in this thread... just want to identify them all - good, bad, and ugly. Here's what I have so far 1. Implement via the 'event' keyword (with associated delegate, etc) 2. Expose a private delegate via a public property (really a "roll yer own" version of the 'event' keyword method).

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
