VWD 2005 Express is available for free as a download. Try getting the
production version and try this again.

Take our your relative positioning and see what happens. You probably need
to use some trial and error on this because of the way the web controls are
actually rendered within a browser. You might also test with other browsers
because they will render differently from FireFox and IE in some cases.

When it comes to browsers, WYS isn't really WYG.

I appreciate the help, however microsoft is advertising wsyiwyg, I set
everything absoulte and use grid format instead of flow the result are worse.
It should work, I created web pages in visual studio 2003 and did not have
an issue. Is there anything else besides guessing that would fix the problem?

You can contact Microsoft directly and pay the fees to get an answer
that is not a guess. If you don't want to go this route then these
forums are a great way to get answers concerning your issues. If you
feel Microsoft is doing false advertising then go hassel them about it.
If you ask me, VS.NET 2003 visual designer is far less superior to
Visual Web Developer. Maybe you could display some of your markup that
is not being rendered properly in the designer. By the way, do does
your page look when rendered in IE or Firefox?

Hello, all. I have a site that works fine when viewed in IE apart from the project in Visual Studio .NET 2003. However, when I right-click and do View in Browser, it tries to open it in the wrong site. I like the "view in browser" feature of vs.net: right click from an aspx page, and preview a working version of the page. I don't like how this can't be launched from the pages' codebehind. The "view in browser" option does not appear on the context menu of VS.NET 2005. Is there a workaround or hotkey that I can use to launch a preview...

I use the VS 2005 option "View in browser" to often view my web site. If I have a link in there like: <img src="/graphics/myimage.jpg"> This doesn't work even though the image is really there. I'm sure this has to do with the fact that the page is being served out of the virtual server/port that VS fires up to serve the page. This...

Earlier I had inquired as to why a normal <a hreftag didn't work when using the VS hosted site using a random local port. The more I think about it, this seems very wrong. Using the random port hosted site, if I have <a href="/mypage.aspx">, this link doesn't seem to work? I've verified this by creating a simple .htm page with a link like...
