XML Documentation in .NET 2.0 and <see...> links to overloaded methods

If I got the following three methods:

/// <summary>
/// Tests the string.
/// </summary>
/// <param name="s">
/// The string to test.
/// </param>
public void Test(String s)
{
}

/// <summary>
/// Tests the integer.
/// </summary>
/// <param name="i">
/// The integer to test.
/// </param>
public void Test(Int32 i)
{
}

/// <summary>
/// Performs a simple test.
/// </summary>
/// <remarks>
/// Also, see <see cref="Test"/> for more information. ----------- here!
/// </remarks>
public void Test2()
{
}

and then compiles this I get:

D:\Dev\VS.NET\D ocumentationTes t1\Documentatio nTest1\GenericC lass1.cs(59,34) :
warning CS0419: Ambiguous reference in cref attribute: 'Test'. Assuming
'DocumentationT est1.GenericCla ss1.Test(string )', but could have also
matched other overloads including
'DocumentationT est1.GenericCla ss1.Test(int)'.

Is there a way to make a link that refers to the overloaded method list?
Using NDoc I can easily output such a page that contains links to the
specific versionf of the overload method.

You already found it. The link works fine, it's just that the
compiler warning is stupid. Add compiler warning 0419 to your list of
ignored warnings (in the project settings).

Hi, What I am trying to do: ======================= I need to form a table in html using the xsl but the table that is formed is quite long and cannot be viewed in our application. So we are writing one object in C# which will take the entire table tag contents and renders. Ie., we need to pass "<table>………… <thead>……</thead>. <tr>.<td> <td>..<tr>.<td> <td> </table>" content to

I'd like to use the XML Documentation Tags to comment my C# code. But many of the tags do not have any effect when I execute the "Build Comment Web Pages" menu. For example, the <list> tag gets reendered as is. The resulting HTML page contains the exact same tags, which are not valid HTML. The same with <see> or <see also>. Isn't this function supposed to transform these tags into valid HTML? Did anybody see this work properly?

Having had a look at the C++ FAQ, comp.lang.c++ & comp.std.c++ archives and Stroustrup's FAQs (particularly the following: <url:http://www.research.att.com/~bs/bs_faq2.html#overload-dot/>) I am left to wondering why Stroustrup doesn't mention the *_cast<> operators or operator .* in that particular FAQ. Archived discussions have convinced me that .* _cannot_ be overloaded. I have gathered a notion (perhaps incorrectly) that the *_cast<>...

Hi, I have a query. All html tags start with < and end with >. Suppose i want to display either '<' or '>' or say some text like '<Company>' in html how do i do it? One method is to use &lt, &gt ,&ltCompany&gt to display '<', '>' and '<Company>' respectively. But is there any freeware code available which could implement the above functionality without having to use &gt,&lt and such stuff???

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
