Datagrid example ...

Anyone knows of a simple "proof of concept" example of populating a
datagrid control (without references to ASP.Net or database connections)?

All I want to do is to populate a data grid control from data in an
instance of my class.

I am creating a custom datagrid based, in part, from someone else's code. The author declared a derived datagrid class in a windows form, then declared a derived ColumnStyle class, in the same form, that accepted his custom grid type as an argument. For example: public class HisCustomGrid : DataGrid { public HisCustomGrid() { } } public class HisColumnStyle : DataGridTextBox { public HisColumnStyle(int anyint, HisCustomGrid grid) { } }...

Hi, I need a big help to resolve this problem. I need to put a usercontrol in a datagrid: this control check if the code inserted is present in a archive and if not return a error message. (In the example I have changed this check with a easy "if string is empty" ) Everything would be easy if the datagrid had a predictable behaviour. I explain my problem.

I have a requirement to put a GDI style circle or rectangle border around the selected row of a datagrid/ It will overlap into the row above and below the selected row. Doing this in a the OnPaint of a subclassed DataGridTextBoxColum dos not seem like a practical way to do it. I have subclassed a DataGrid and overridden the OnPaint as such:

Trying to figure out the technique which should be used to add rows to a datagrid. I am thinking that I would want an "Add" button on the footer, but I am not quite sure how to do that. Is that the best method? Do you have a sample of how to do this?

I am trying to decide which of these controls to use to implement letting my user select a full row from MyList. The MyList has several columns which would be nice to sort by at run time. The MyList data is resident in a dataset table. I'm stuck and can't choose either because. If I choose ListView as my control I don't understand how to programmatically get the data from the dataset table

Hi folks, I have a DropDownList in a DataGrid that is populated from records in a database. I want to add a value that might be a string such as "Select a Company" for the first item since an OnSelectedIndex event is not fired if you select the first item. Does anyone know of an easy way to do this?

Hello! I'm unsure when I can use a bound datagrid and when I can't. What limitations has a bound datagrid? 1. For example if I want to manipulate the data in the datasource before displaying the data in the datagrid can I then use a bound datagrid? 2. For example if I only want to display some of the columns of a datasource table can I then use a bound datagrid? 3. For example if I some of the columns in a datagrid should be readonly...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
