Schedule Console Application - Security Issue

Hello, I am trying to figure out why when I physically use Remote Desktop
connections and sign on to my server and run a console application, it runs
just fine. But if I scedule that console application to run using my Domain
Name and my user ID and password, the job fails when it attempts to write the
output file which is located on another server. I am referencing the file
using the following convention....

\\Fred\customer _adjustment\wee kly_detail\MyFi le.txt

Followed by the file name.
If I past the URL into my browser, it finds that location just fine.

Why does it work for me when I am physically logged on, but not when I
schedule the job using my Domanin Name and user ID and password?

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated!!!

Some more information might help, including a code sample and/or a stack
trace.

Are there are any best practices or guidance on how to share an object between the Web world and the non? Here's my situation: i have one object (a security profile containing IPrincipal + some other stuff) that almost every other object in my system uses (methods have role-based security). The object is specific to a user. User A logs in, gets authenticated, his security profile gets shoved into Session, each page he goes to retrieves...

I wrote a simple VB.Net console application. It accepts command line parameters and creates a folder structure. It works on the local file system without a problem If I run the console app from a UNC or network share, I get a SecurityException on the following line: Dim args() As String = Environment.GetCommandLineArgs() Has anyone seen this before? Is there something special I need to do

Hello, I recently completed a MC++ (VS2003) DLL that wraps a non MFC C++ DLL and need to use it in a MC++ Console Application (no forms/guis of any kind just output to console). Trouble is that when I ran it and looked at memory usage (in Windows task manager) it looked as if there was a very slow leak. To isolate the issue:

I create a console application. This application creates a simple Excel File. I move this application to a server. I use the .Net Configuration utility and grant the application full access authority. I run the application under my user ID interactively and it runs just fine. I schedule the application to run using my ID and password and it fails with an error message whose FULL TEXT is "Access Violation". I fails when the code...

I have a .NET console application that is kicked off by a .NET Windows service. They communicate via .NET Remoting, although there isn't much communication between the two while the console app is running. There can be, and are typically, several instances of the console app running at the same time communicating back to the service. The console app creates a delegate to do some work while the main thread waits on a ManualResetEvent to...

Hello Gurus, Is it possible to schedule a task to run an application deployed using ClickOnce? The executable changes location with each update.. and if i were to run the executable directly, it's not considered as a network deployed application and it's not able to use any of the update features programatically.. any ideas? workarounds? thank you,

When one uses the System.Diagnostics.Process.Start method to launch a common or garden Console application, one can set the WindowStyle property of the StartInfo object to ProcessWindowStyle.Hidden so that the window for the Console application is not visible. However, when using some of the 'advanced' properties of the StartInfo object, like Username, Password and Domain, the WindowsStyle property of the StartInfo object is ignored....

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
