Using AxWebBrowser to Browse Files

Hi,

I'm using the AxWebBrowser in a C# WinForms application. I've got
the basics working, but need some help controlling the view options for
browsing files.

How can I disable the "WebView"/Tasks pane on the left side of the
file view?

I've looked around and know it can be done globally from the registry
(HKLU/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/Advanced -
WebView = 0), but I'd like to control it on a per instance basis when
I initialize the control. I've also found a reference to a NoWebView
flag that can be set in a VB form file, but can't find it or
equivalent on the AxWebBrowser control.

I also wouldn't mind being able to toggle on/off the "Folders"
taskpane as well. I haven't really looked into this either, but saw
a NoFolders flag where I saw the NoWebView flag.

Things I've tried that don't work:
1) axWebBrowser.Pu tProperty("NoWe bView", 1) - api is probably not
meant for this
2) Setting the AxWebBrowser.Vi ewOptions property - read-only, but
values look like what I want

Or is there a better control/class to use for a File Explorer?

Thanks,

-beau

Good afternoon. The entire task that I'm trying to achieve is to allow a user to browse and upload multiple files simultaneously, hiding the Browse button of <input> tags of type="file" and replacing it with a button of my own background color and text. The file paths I'd like displayed in a textarea and then the files uploaded at once.

I'm working on an application for browsing encrypted files (HTML and PDF mostly)on a DVD. My plan is to decrypt the files to memory and stream them to the AxWebBrowser component which should be able to display them at that point. However, I haven't been able to find a way to intercept the navigation command when someone clicks on a link in an HTML page so I can pre-process the file before it is rendered. >From what I've been able to...

Okay, I've given up on using the "new" WebBrowser in 2005 to do what I want to do -- tabbed browsing. It seems I really need RegisterAsBrowser and Application to get each instance of a browser working on each tab (and those methods are not available in 2005). I found some code on MSDN forums, but the extention didn't really cover RegisterAsBrowser. Someone told me how to do it, but it's in c and basically over my head. Even though he...

Code below ---- I've asked a similar question on this forum earlier. This is a slightly different situation. Previous Question ---- I'm trying to save some specific web pages to disk as text files. I searched the Internet and found a basic example which I changed to fit my needs. I tested it out first on a single URL and it worked fine. Now when I incorporate an array of URL's, it fails to work. The first "responseFromServer"...

I have written an application that reads third party web pages. If I am using HTTP everything works fine. I create an AxSHDocVw.AxWebBrowser object and then Navigate2 to the page. I then populate some form fields, browse to the appropriate button on the page and then call it's click method. This works just fine using HTTP. However, one of the web pages changed to HTTPS (actually 2 of them have). Now, the click does not throw an...

The source code behind each button is like below: <input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Submit" onClick="afm.__act.value=' SITE.9.20081206A__id.30.AdminsSelected.adp.actRegister';return SubmitOnlyOnce();">

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
