List of events handled by control

Hi All,

Is there any way to get the list of events that a particular control
handles, so they can be added or removed dynamically?

In other words, say I have a TreeView that handles the AfterLabelEdit,
BeforeLabelEdit , and ItemDrag events (just to use some events as an example).

If I remove this tree control programatically , and then add it back in with
a different parent, I've lost the event handlers. I'd like to recreate these
dynamically, from a list of event handlers that was created before the remove.

Obviously, the event handlers could be hard-coded in where the control is
added, but that is certainly error prone. For example, if the KeyDown event
is added later, chances are probably 50/50 that somebody will add the event
handler code to the place where the control is re-added.

Thanks,
pagates

Hello All, Does anybody have an example to raise an event that may or may not give feedback to the caller? I am thinking about something roughly like the Cancel property of an CancelEventArgs or the Handled property on the KeyDown events. What I have is a user control that I want to raise an event that allows the parent to set a property in the control, and set a flag in the event that says it has set the property. The user control...

I'm trying to build a Server Control, it's a calendar to manage sellers appointments (don't answer me to use and custumize Calendar Control because unluckily it's not possible for this specific project). A piece of my control's interface is composed of a table and in each of its cells are stored informations about a seller, a date and a time range. Each of these cells has to be an interactive element: I should be able to process datas...

Hey guys, I am working on a web custom control that basically draws a table (ASP Table) with a few child controls in the cells. I have a command button inside one of these cells. The problem I am running into is that I cannot get the click event of this object handled. I have tried wiring the event with "AddHandler" among other things and that seems not to work neither.

In a VB.Net Windows Forms application, I have a user control that handles mouse events. Another section of code programmatically adds a label to the control. I would like label to ignore all events allowing the user control to react to the mouse click. Setting the Enabled property on the label to False comes close, but I don't want the font color to change. Does anyone have an idea how .NET implements the code behind the Enabled...

When a custom control is used within a form, that control does not get events directly. I've run into this a couple times with both mouse and keyboard events. Ex: A custom control inherits from UserControl (or Panel, etc). If that particular control is being edited, it IS possible to assign handlers and get events. However, when the control is used on the main form, assigning a handler to the particular control does nothing--the...

I have a relatively minor problem that has been bugging me for a long time. I have created a user control which consists of a few panels and labels. What I want to do with this user control is to change its back color when the mouse hovers over it and to change the back color to its previous color when the mouse leaves the control creating the illusion of the control being highlighted. Now I assumed that after the user control was...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
