Visual C# for Tablet PC

I want to buy Visual C# (or C++) and use it to develop
for the Tablet PC. I can't figure out what to buy. I can
buy the Visual C# .NET ($109), but don't know if that has
the inking libraries. Anyone who has bought something
similar, please let me know.

Hi Mark,

AFAIK the Tablet PC OS is just XP with some api(s) included to handle the
hand written reconigtion, therefore you can use the .NET framework as usual,
now I don't thing that there are managed extension to these API, therefore
you may have to P/Invoke them.

Cheers,

Just an FYI, the .NET show just did a feature on tablet PCs. I found it
very informative:

Mark,
There is a Tablet PC SDK that you will need in addition to purchasing Visual
C#. The SDK has all the managed libraries to leverage the Tablet PC from
..NET.

I'm considering buying a Tablet PC and read somewhere (sorry, can't point to a link) that someone had tried running a "standard" Python program (wxMozilla demo I *think*, but can't be sure) that simply crashed. Any happy Tablet PC user/Python programmer combo? If so, any word of advice, suggestion as to best Tablet PC/accessory for a nice Python programming environment? Thanks to all in advance,

I have a .NET application and have added handwriting (via the PenInputPanel class) for users with Tablet PCs. The problem I'm having is that if I call this class it throws a runtime error if the application is not on a Tablet PC. My question is how do I detect if it is a Tablet PC? I checked the OS and they are identical (i.e. 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2) between a TabletPC and non Tablet PC. Thanks Eric

I'm developing a VB.NET 2005 WinForms application that will run on a tablet PC. I can trap when the user flips the display via the SystemEvents.DisplaySettingsChanged event. The problem is I...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
