Scanner application using asp.net,javascript and ajax

1
i am a junior and i am currently working on a asp.net project for scanning items(Inventory application), the application works fine when ran on my machine but as soon as i use a scanner the item takes longer to post, even though i have used ajax and javascript to process the data. also the page goes back to the previous page after processing, initially i thought the scanner wasn't configured properly. just wondering is there a better way to do this kind of application or should i just dish asp.net and recreate the application in mobile.

your help will be greatly appreciated
