MD5 comparing

hi am a student and i have course project . i am struggling with using MD5 and how i can compare the plain txt password entered by the user with the hashed txt password saved in database .. please
can any one help ????

The point of a MD5 hash is that is 1- way. You cannot decrypt it. What you do is encrypt the password again, and compare that to the stored md5 hash.
