Catching exc as Exceptions

347 100+
I have the following code

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1.  Catch Exc As Exception
  2.                 'We encountered a problem
  3.                 message.Text = "Your file was not in the correct format. Please contact MSB Customer Service at 512-467-5200."
  4.             End Try
  5.
and while that presents a friendlier error message to a user, I've forgotten how to show me the "real" error. Can someone please remind me how to do that.

Thanks

Doug

I solved this ... intellisense is a great feature if you let it do its thing.

Glad you solved the problem :)

Exception.StackTrace and Exception.Message give you details about the exception itself.

In your case you probably used something like:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Try
  2.  '....
  3. Catch Exc As Exception
  4.   message.Text = Exc.Message + "  <br />" +  Exc.StackTrace
  5. End Try
