MD5 Checksum comparison of a file, asp.net using vb

Hi,
I am a bit new to this, but here goes. I need help on developing an application or simple script in asp.net which basically checks the md5 checksum of a file which will be my web application, and i want it to be compared with the original and be able to alert me of any changes ie defacement.

Please i will be very grateful if anyone could help.

What have you tried so far?

It sounds like you know what you need to do...are you stuck on a particular problem?

Well, a lot of information about MD5 encryption can be found in the MSDN Library.

For example, there is a very detailed article on the MD5 class there, complete with examples.

I recommend bookmarking the MSDN Library and using it as your primary resource when developing in .NET.
