Convert.ToString()

147 100+
I have a question about the Convert.ToString vs ToString.

Please find two lines of code:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. string dt = System.DateTime.Today.ToString("yy/dd/mm");
  2.
  3. string date = Convert.ToString(System.DateTime.Today("yy/dd/mm"));
  4.
The first example (dt) works fine, the second (date) doesn't work. Can any one explain why and is there a rule to follow between using ToString vs Convert.ToString()

Thank you

Dave

DateTime.Today is a property, and not a method.
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. string dt = System.DateTime.Today.ToString("yy/dd/mm");
  2. string date = Convert.ToString(System.DateTime.Today.ToString ("yy/dd/mm"));
  3.
