could you explain the requirement a bit more please? ... should the webpage be saved to the client machine? then could have luck with an ActiveX control for the word-part but i think for the PDF-part you need to have a look for a serverside solution at least and having said this ... i think this should be the better way for the word docs too since ActiveX is only usable with IE ... so basicly the solution will look like:

1. viewing the webpage in question
2. clicking a button that calls a serverside service for the page-conversion
2.1. probably you need to pass any params from the page with that request
3. the converter will do its job to convert to word/pdf doc
4. provide the converted doc for download -> show a link or just send it to the client and let the cleint decide what to do with the file

kind regards

i am working on an online resume generator. As the user ends the entry of his details a page will show his resume. I want to make it downloadable in word and pdf formats.

then you would need to upload the data from the client and need a serverside code that does the conversion ... with something like this

kind regards

that .NET-mess of the possible use of different languages is just a pain :) ... on the other hand it could be even a nice feature since you could have an easy way to mix such free components with your code ... so when i would have those possibilities i would make use of it ... so just would have the need to be a bit flexible with my sensitivities regarding a specific language ... :)

kind regards

Maliksleo.......

The only difference between C# and VB is syntax.
I guess this is easier for me because I'm "bilingual" when it comes to C# and VB but you really should be able to read that article and understand what the author is getting across.

If you really need help with converting C# into VB syntax take a look at this awesome conversion resource.
