Firstly will it be automated or some admin will manually send mails?
You will require
1. Database where all user information is stored including emails...
2. You need some docs like pdf or text file that you can embed in email...
3. Send mail either manually or automate it ....

Why would you want to do this using ASP.NET?

I don't see any need to have a GUI interface for an automated newsletter sending application.

I guess if you wanted to sign up for the newsletter via the internet you could design a website that adds the user's email address to the database (or XML file.. or other data store where you are keeping the email addresses).... but the ASP.NET application wouldn't be responsible for sending the newsletter to the list, just responsible for gathering the user's email.

tnx for the quick reply... I'm just new in this concept and i'm not really sure. So you mean that I may use another application that is responsible for sending the newsletters? I'm just thinking of making a guid for making newsletter because my idea is that, an admin needs a guid that will let him compose the newsletter.. hmmm... whats the idea of having another application send the newsletter? I also heard that sqlserver2005 can also be use in sending emails.. sorry for asking so many questions, I'm just new with this idea and im interested with this... tnx
