website keeps asking for login

52
Hi,

My asp.net based website often asks for login information multiple times while loading a page. It seems to happen randomly; and for pages that take longer to load it might even ask 3 or 4 times.

This happens to all the users using the site. I suspect I might need to set the expiry time for session/cookies etc but I'm not completely sure that's the reason or how to set them.

Any advice is appreciated, thanks :)

Hi 200dogz,
Please try to debug the application and exactly watch what is happening inside it. Or you could post the code in the page that is facing this problem. Thanks.

@sangam56
Thanks for the reply sangam.

There's nothing wrong with debugging/compiling the site, and since this can happen to almost every page in the website I haven't been able to spot out what's causing it exactly.

However I do suspect that it might be because I have not close some of the OdbcDataReaders and OdbcConnection; but that's just one possibility.

It sounds like your login session expires real fast. Check the IIS for session details. On IIS right click on the website tab and check the Connection timeout option. And also check you web.config file under authentication. check the timeout property is set properly.

I've enabled anonymous access in IIS and the login screen no longer shows up :).

So you're most likely right about it being an IIS issue.

Cheers :)
