.gif wont show with image control

I have images in app_data folder. For some reason, the image control never
shows them. What do I do?

Nevermind. I figured out that you can't have images in app_data. DUH!

files in the app_data folder can not be accessed by the browser because
its a protected folder. if you want to browser to access them, supply an
aspx page that streams out the images. google this group for examples.

Yes more precisely dowloading is blocked from this directory whatever it
is...

This folder is intended to store file based databases if needed and is
blocked from downloads to protect this... So unless you have to use this
(suhc perhaps as when your sitre is hosted by an externla provider, this
folder will be just left empty).
