Help on annotation using asp.net

Hello,
I am trying to develop an application to view pdf files in ASP.net. I would
need to add an annotation to the pdf files. I am trying to capture the place
where the click on pdf is happening so that i can store the x,y coordinates
and place the particular annotation on those coordinates. I am looking for a
pdf viewer through which i can capture the coordinates.

Is there any other way for us to create an annote for a pdf? just looking at
various option to do it. Any help would be welcome

Cheers

PDF viewer in asp.net ? Do you want to present PDF as html page ? If it is
presented as pdf, then browser would automatically open in corresponding
plugin. May be , you should create that as desktop software.
I don't know, what is your aim, but surely, you can use some commercial pdf
libraries, like from componentone.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.I need to create a site from asp.net 3.5 to annotate
any uploaded documents. This annotation should be done by the end user of the
site. Methodology I suggested was to convert any uploaded document into pdf
and allow to the users to annotate that pdf. Now, can I know is there any
component available for this . I mean that component must be a pdf viewer
which allows the user to annotate at any location they wish. Please let me
know if such component is available.

You can view the PDF in a PDF viewer of any sort but for annotation use
iTextSharp. I wrote a tutorial on how to do it here:

Good luck.

Hello Donn,

Thanks for the reply. I need the viewer or a container to place the pdf in
it so that i can capture the x,y coordinates.
I actually need to mark a particular text in the pdf and give an annotate
for that particular text. Everytime open that document the annotate should be
visible near that marked text. That is the challenge i am facing.

Thanks
Prady
