How to change control state in MVC preview 3

I need to change control state (disable a menu item in the menu) based on
what page is loaded at the time. How do I do this and where would I put it
at? There are other questions like handeling DropDown.SelectedItem_Changed
event and where to put that as well. Any ideas?
