Error editing integer

I have a GridView with a cell bound to an SQL Integer column as follows:
Text='<%# Bind("Issued", "{0:n0}") %>'

This allows the number to show with comma, e.g. 100,000

But when I click the Update button I get the error Input string was not in a
correct format.

How can I display the comma but remove it when updating? Thanks.

David
